Flush the toilet in 2 years and start over. The "leadership" are poster boys & girls for the 'Peter Principle'.

Kind of funny, because if the plan doesn't work, we're done for. It will be real funny hearing "I told you so" when none of us have jobs and our democracy is collapsed.
The plan may not work, but at this point, what else is there to lose? At least someone is trying to correct the problem. For some reason, I don't think cutting taxes for rich people and outsourcing more American work so we can buy more Commie junk is the answer.

Well, to apply a medical analogy, the crux of the matter is whether you believe the patient is going to die if untreated or ultimately get better (presumably after a long and arduous recovery period) without treatment. If the former, than any kind of risky treatment that has a chance of working might be justified, but if the latter then the Hippocratic oath limits what sorts of things one should be willing to try.

The Democrats could always contemplate helping us lose yet ANOTHER trillion dollars, I guess.
It's an article of faith among the Democrats that the stimulus is a necessity. Nearly half of the American people disagree, but the Dems keep pushing.
Why? Are you kidding? This is a Democrat's wet dream: a situation in which they can spend, nearly unopposed, almost a TRILLION DOLLARS on exactly the kind of feel-good stuff they LOVE to spend money on.
But hey, your grandkids will be perfectly happy to pay the money back, so let's spend it like we've got it ...

Rich people invest their money, which creates jobs, and that's a net win for everybody. But the real answer is to stop spending more money than we have (something *neither* party is capable of), and cut taxes for *everybody*.

I don't think these idiots have even read what is in this so-called "stimulus plan" 90% of the money goes to other branches of the GOVERNMENT and the UNIONS. A mere 10% is actually going into the people as a whole. A whopping (up to) $8/week. Boy, I can really "stimulate" with that!!??
Over 8 Billion for MORE POLICE = UNION Jobs and GOVT. Control (what Mussolini and Hitler did).
And overtones of more gun control are creeping in.
over 7 Billion to TEACHERS = UNION Jobs.
over 22 Billion for "New Cars" = UNION Jobs and SHORT TERM. (autoworkers and related UNIONS).
Close to 11 Billion to "teach hospitals to ready for Socialized Medicine" = Government Control and UNION jobs. (although they have since re-worded that)
80 Billion (estimated) to go for "infrastructure" just goes to "the States" (Government) to decide where, and how much to spent. = UNION jobs and Govt. spending YOUR money.
And "The States" will get "rewards" for "complying" WHAT???
The Government BUYING and CONTROLLING the Banking system?? Those that were FORCED to "take the money" cannot even voice an opinion about "the plan". = FASCISM!
GE is now part of the Govt.! You wanna cry about the "rich"!! GE is bigger than OIL! And now can "assist" the Govt. in control of your energy usage!
Have you looked at these "elitist" "Congressmen's wealth? They are ALL Multi-Millionaires! They have NO clue what it's like to have to "wait" to buy something, or even wonder if they can afford it. By all means, "hate the rich", but don't exclude those RICH that are trying to control you! Obama wants to hire someone who is supposedly "the smartest guy for the job" and HE doesn't even know how to pay his taxes??? WAKE UP!

A bunch of us here are doing that to get ready for 2010. We're petitioning to get at least one GOP (so-called "representative") voted out of office, or to retire. We want a real congressman, not one that is part of "The D.C. Gang". And yes, it's a GOP "member" we're talking about. We want a representative of The People, not a "Party Member".
