Windows 7 is wonderful, especially the 64 bit version. Honestly, I do not see the appeal at all of using Linux as a daily user OS.

A few reasons I can think of:

- Avoiding bloatware

- Open architecture/source

- Avoids supporting Bill and Steve

It isn't there yet for the average Joe but for the server market, it seems to be a good choice.

Me too. Give ME a PC... and give all my relatives Macintosh so I don't have to do their tech support. I really cant stand working on Macs though. If Apple ever gets modern and allows their O/S to run in a virtual PC then I'll give their O/S a longer more susbtantial try. Until then, I refuse to buy any of their locked in hardware.

I do everything in virtual box these days. I install XP64 once, keep it absolutely pure and brand new. I install virtual box in there, then do all my daily work in virtual machines. They get corrupted, spoiled over time (like all Windows installs?) and I just make a new one or revert to a snapshot. I have my work environment setup perfectly and have a snapshot of it.

Apple makes NICE hardware, super design.

I dont mind supporting Bill Gates at all. He has given more $ to useful charity than ANYONE in history. Larry Elison and Steve Jobs give nothing but to themselves. Granted I like open-source and Linux.

True but Win7 is rather resistant to viri (for now). Why does the Mac and Linux have no (few) malware? Small market share. If Mac and or Linux becomes dominant then there absoultely will be a slew of malware developed. Hackers and script kiddies love to p!ss off alot of people.
