I have to use a PC for work since the software is not Mac compatible. When I protested this situation I was reminded I could partition my hard drive and run Windows on my Mac. I refused to do so, because I don't want to contaminate an excellent computer and operating system with Windows. So I'll just pay the price, literally, and have two (well, ok 4) machines. I have used computers since my Commodore 64, and honestly nothing beats a MAC for performance and reliability.

I couldn't agree with you more. I write music for a living and the first computer I used as a sequencer/recorder was a PC. Total garbage. DOS. The computer was in charge of me. Creative pursuits require flexible tools not rigid, non-user friendly aesthetically unpleasing boxes of noise. I've been using Macs since the late 80's and have never turned back. Sure, I use a PC for imaging as the software is not available in Mac flavour and they've come a long way since DOS but I still have no use for them. No such thing as cross platform adherence to key strokes or aesthetics to mention but a few things. I think if the majority pulled their heads out of their respective rears and tried a Mac they'd be sold.

I prefer PC over MAC for several reasons, while I am sure to some MAC is more user friendly, I am used to PC's and have a hard time working on a MAC. I think they are overpriced, you can get a lot more computer for the same price on PC. You don't run into issues with programs or software that will not run on a MAC.

That's about where I am. I have software from the days of Windows 3.0 that I am still running under XP. MACs have/had backwards compatibility problems.
The new MACs can run Windows and they use an Intel processor so I guess they are about half way to sanity.
Linux.. Hopefully someday it will take over but it suffers from a lack of software alternatives.

Mainly because there are NO virii to worry about. Heck, there is no need for a virus scanner in Linux. I can do everything I want except run the "better" astro software. That, and the OS is FREE! My laptop boots up in only a few seconds from a cold start, and shuts down just as fast. No need to defrag either so it keeps running smooth.

Windows 7 is wonderful, especially the 64 bit version. Honestly, I do not see the appeal at all of using Linux as a daily user OS.
