Widest, clearest, low cost 2" ep for f/5?

I'm looking for recommendations for a 2", wide FOV, 24-32mm, inexpensive eyepiece for use in a 6" f/5 (750mm) DOB.
Max budget is $175-$200, but of course, less is better if it's comparable.

I read with great interest the thread on the BW 30mm vs the GTO Proxima 31mm. The BW sounds like it's out for an f/5 reflector. I'm definitely willing to give up a little FOV for better edge performance, (up to a point!) Good contrast is very important to me.

GTO?
Siebert?
UO?
Ultima?
other?

Thanks,
Mike Swaim

Siebert 2" 32mm Ultra Plus works pretty nicely in f/5. The Ultra does not work as well. Ultimas are good.

Maybe things have changed in the last couple of years, but when I made my trip through the "inexpensive", long focal length, wide true field oculers on the market, I was always disappointed with the edge performance in my 10" f/5 Newt. I've heard of people liking the 32mm UO Konig and the 25mm UO MK-70, but these Konigs will probably behave like Konigs do at f/5, which means that the sharp part of the view won't be all that wide. But this may not be the case, depending on all sorts of things, including off-axis illumination. Speaking of the BW Optic, I sold my old WideScan II, a similar type of eyepiece, when I realized that the useable sharp part of the view was matched by a 35mm Ultima (a 1.25" eyepiece).

I'm not really big on spending a lot of money on long focal length eyepieces, but FYI, what I've ended up with is the 40mm Pentax XL because it's light, performs fairly well without a Paracorr and offers nearly the widest true field possible in my scopes and the 24mm Panoptic. I'm 10 times more satisfied with the 24mm Panoptic that anything else I've tried in the 16-32mm range of focal lengths.

I have both the BW-Optik and the GOTO Proxima. Of the two the BW-Optik is the one I prefer. Edge performance at F5 most often sucks but otherwise it is usuable and most often enjoyable eyepiece. I think the contrast and light transmission is quite good, what amazes me the most is how well I can spot faint small targets even when there is significant light pollution.

If you were around someplace where you could borrow one to test, you might find it did the job.

On the otherhand, if you got $200 to spend, spend it...

I'm sensing a good bit of "mission creep" rearing it's ugly head, here. Originally, the plan was to get a 6" f/5 DOB for a couple hundred bucks to use as a wide field scanner, and Messier Marathon runner. I figured I'd add a BW 30mm and have a $300 rich field scope. After reading various comments about the unsuitibility of the BW Optik 30mm regarding fast reflectors, I decided I would consider eyepieces up to $150. Then, just to make things interesting, I posed the idea of increasing that to maybe $175-$200 max. Now folks are saying Panoptic. How long before someone suggests a $620 Nagler V??

I am very intrigued by the idea that a nice 1.25" might be almost as good. I suppose I should just see how I like the scope with my existing 16mm Konig, 26mm & 32mm Super Plossls.

Keep the input coming. I appreciate the reality checks.
