Too good to be true?

I would like to add a little to this discussion.
A few months ago a non rated man in Canada offered a ServoCat Jr kit with Argo Navis for sale. It was stated to be new in the box and unused or even unpacked from StellarCat. He wanted a wire transfer for payment and the price was $1,000 less than new. He also offered to ship it, his cost special delivery and insured.
Now this all sounds bad doesn't it? No ratings, foreign country, wire transfer, very low price were all warning signs according to most.
Well I too was skeptical so I contacted the person and StellarCat and confirmed all the information. I spent a few dollars on long distance phone calls to the seller to talk to him. Then I decided to take a chance. I felt the deal was real, but it could be bad. I sent the money through my bank to his business bank account. In just a few days the packages arrived on my door by special delivery! All was new, still packaged in the original packing and boxes. He spent quite a lot of money on the shipping too!
Well, this story is to show that all that looks to good to be true is not always a scam.
Just food for thought.

Good thought to remember Floyd. My feeling is this; we all started out here with zero ratings, and someone took a chance on buying from us.

Floyd,

I have a saying, "If it sounds too good to be true, call Randy and let him in on it."

Floyd,
Too bad you weren't at Pinos on Saturday. You could have tried it out under adverse conditions. Twenty-two degrees with wind. It blew my desert storm cover off my scope and I had to do search and rescue to find it's crumpled (but usable) remains in the morning.
However, it was clear and we had a blast using Jake's new 4" meade apo with a brand new 80mm vixen apo mounted on top of it. The wind didn't bother either one and the images on both were great. It was first light for another amateur's 6" tak apo, what a nice outfit.
The wind subsided about 4:00 am and the winter sky was awesome. It was definitely a refractor night as the shorter tube models held up well in the wind. I can't say enough good things about that 80mm vixen apo: from it's 100mm tube to its massive ultrasmooth 2" focuser and its great optics. What a package and its bargain priced at our favorite camera store in Woodland Hills. Hmm...

I can't believe I did it!!!?? shocked Even after reading all these threads and with much experience under my belt I committed to buy a pair of Siebert 15mm Ultras for $130 from a no rated no postings seller. Any body familiar with a John Stewart in Conestoga, Penn. ? Floyd,I am trying to get a phone number to talk to the guy like you recommended.
