HD Optics

Sorry if this has already been covered.

The HD optics on the SCT's are going to be superior for the astrophotography minded person but are they superior for a visual observer like myself?
Would you benefit shelling out for a C14 EDGE HD or purchase a C14 XLT?

Only you can answer that. Visually, they will be fairly noticeably better at the field edge than a stock SCT. They will be slightly better than an f/6.3 r/c equipped C8.

Me? My next SCT will be an Edge or an ACF.
