Imaged from my backyard in the middle of Los Angeles, this is 90 minutes of Ha, taken with AP206 scope and field flattener, FLI 16803 camera and Astrodon 3nm filter.

Many thanks to Francois Regembal for his help with the processing in Photoshop.

Dang Barry, that looks about as good as the data taken at LAAS! 8O I guess I won't be seeing you up there for a while. wink How is Francois doing anyway, I haven't heard from him since he went back to France?

Woah! That is one huge picture! Impressive to say the least.

P.S. for the noise in the faintest areas, you might look into Topaz, which is a Photoshop smoothing plugin. You can get it from this link: http://www.topazlabs.com/denoise/

Just wanted to thank you for posting this. It seems rather incredible to me, having zero experience with astrophotography, that you can capture such an image in LA.

So beautiful, crisp and clear!

Cleers,
Joe

Barry,
Super image! It's amazing what you can do in light polluted skies with narrow band filters.
