Heed your own words, sir.
"I've lived long enough to know the truth and Glenn pretty much has it right."
Kurt Vonnegut said that people do not learn from their mistakes and that age does not bring wisdom. He was smart enough to recognize that truth is a slippery thing, not self-evident, and that putting forth our own opinions as "truth" is one example, as this person demonstrates.
One dictionary definition of "common sense" (i.e., public opinion) is the unconsidered opinions of simple people.
"But don't worry, the truth has a way of making itself known regardless of personal opinion."
But I do worry. The more I learn the more I realize how little I know. And don't give me that crap about "I suspect anyone over 40 years old knows exactly what I'm talking about." I'm 66 and I think you are both arrogant and delusional.
