Hi all;

Im starting on a new project of building a 4 1/2 f/8 newtonian dob. Yeah I know that it seems kind of small
but hey its my first ATM project.
I would like to know what kind of focuser
to buy for the tube. The tube will be about 6 inches in
diameter. Any suggestions. P/S i want to buy a nice
focuser please post the name of the company and the web
site in your response Thanks.

Well, a couple that come to mind are...

Moonlight focusers:
http://www.focuser.com/

and

Starlight Instruments Feathertouch:
http://www.astrofieds.com/docs/feathertouch.htm
(or just get one from http://www.buytelescopes.com/search.asp?q=feathertouch&s=2)

These are the high end of focusers. I know there are others out there that will work and are cheaper, but these are the to that I am familiar with.

I think they might be overkill for a 4 1/2" scope. Perhaps something to keep in mind when you jump up to an 8" or 10" scope project.
