10 Inch Dob Ghosting

I'm stumped. I can't get rid of this ghosting problem (if that's what you'd call it). I took an afocal photo of Venus with a digital cam locked at infinity focus. It's actually in better focus than the image shows, but the ghosting is what I'm illustrating. It also has rays coming from Venus.

This is an F5/10" mirror, eyepiece is 9.6 mm Meade SP.

Any ideas? This is a truss dob. Hoping it's some light shielding problem that is fixable.

Matt

Could be the EP,not sure that the Meade 9.6 has a ghosting problem, but I would think that you are not in collimation.

"Excellent sharpness and contrast but the one I owned had noticeable color ghosting on bright objects. Eye relief tight but usable with "bare" eyes. Sold it and bought a 10mm Orion Ultrascopic which is just as sharp and contrasty without the color ghosting.

Looks like camera/scope vibration. Do you use cable release or internal timer for exposure? Do ALL your exposures of Venus exhibit same defect? I once took 4 dozen exposures of Saturn as it drifted through the FOV in an undriven dob and was able to use only 10 of the shots. (gotta love the digital camera!)
