I want to buy a 80mm refractor for astrophotography and as a guide scope on my C8. I have looked around at almost every brand possible and still can't choose. Thoughts anyone?

I am very happy with a TMB 80mm f/6 CNC triplet with Feather touch and televue .08 reducer flattener for larger flat field when needed. I also got good results with an Orion ED80 but the triplet is better. You can see some images at samsastro.com I am still in the process of getting images processed through the TMB. You might also consider the TMB 90mm signature series as it will give a similar FOX of most F/6.5 - 7 80's.

My opinion only, I have not tried all the various scopes out there in this size. I do recommend Two speed Feather Touch focuser on any scope.

I have used FS 78, ED 80 & TMB 80mm f/6 Triplet

I own the William Optics 80mm APO f/6 triplet (the one on the bottom of the pic) that uses the same objective that Mark mentions. I find that it is a great little scope, but the WO 80mm f/5 is no longer available, unless Markus still has one on his shelf.
The one from Mark is even a little nicer than the WO I think, they are from Markus and are very well made.
The LOMO 80mm triplet APO is about as good as an 80mm gets.
