Mirror recoating - overspray

I just had a 12.5" zambuto mirror recoated by a well known company and noticed some oversrpay on the sides. I ask the company about the overspray and they said all the mirrors they coat have a little bit of overspray and that it should not be a problem. Should I be concerned about light scatter, should I paint the sides of the mirro black where I see overspray?

I'd apprecaite any comments.

The sides should pose no problems. Do not paint them, it will just be a mess at sometime. You will get very little light hitting the vertical sides, so scatter is not a problem.

Check the recent thread in this forum entitled "Edge Blacken Primary?". There was a lot of advise against painting the sides of a primary black.
