Here's TMB's reply from the Yahoo Group.I hope it's ok to post this here:
It was not an easy task, but I think all the
hard work is going to be worth it and more. Any product that
can bring us closer to perfection, and reveal the wonders of
the heavens clearer is worth all the effort it takes.
The days ahead will be non-stop work for me, so please
understand that I may not be at the phone, or answer e-mail's
quickly (remember, TMB Optical is just one person). I will
send the eyepieces out as soon as possible, but it will take
a bit of time with testing, invoicing, and boxing them up for
shipment. I will make an announcement when I will be shipping
the first run. As I have to wait about another week after the
eyepieces come for the dust caps, I think the timing will be
perfect when the caps come in, as all the testing and work
will be done, and it will then be possible to make a complete
shipment to everyone that ordered from the first run. I know
you all want the eyepieces tomorrow, but I will not compromise
quality control, just for shipping the eyepieces out a few days
earlier. I appreciate everyone's understanding in this matter.
There may be people that have canceled without notifying me.
In those cases, I will work down the list from my customers that
are on the second run, and give them first run status. The next
shipment will cover everyone on the list, and as Markus says,
that will be in early August, so everyone should have their
TMB Super monocentric eyepieces before Mars hits 25.1 arc
seconds.
Thank you,
Thomas Back
Almost sounds like TMB is personally checking every eyepiece. Now that's QC.
