Hi everyone- I'm thinking of buying a 7.5mm eyepiece and noticed that Orion sells this focal length in both the Epic and Lanthanum brand. They have similar FOV and eye relief and I was wondering if the Lanthanum is worth the extra money. This eyepiece would primarily be used for planetary observing. If have 2 Radians in different focal lengths but really don't want to spend another $240. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Gerry

I have a couple of Lanthanums, 5mm and 7mm. They were OK, but I thought they lacked in contrast and were a bit dark.
The superwide Lanthanums are better, but I actually found the Ultrascopics to be better in constrast, but lacking in eyerelief.
I would not rate the Lanthanum with the Radian however. Maybe the Superwide would be close and slightly cheaper by $20, but the Radians are very nice.
The Superwide Lanthanums are not in the same group as the regular Lanthanums and are big improvement. I have not had any of those as yet however and very little experience with them.
