Nagler Type VI vs. Radian 5mm

Is the Nagler worth $40 more? I don't wear glasses. A couple of reviews anecdotally said they thought the Radian may be sharper, but the Nagler has wider true and apparent fields of view. I'd be using in a TV 101mm refractor, f/l 540mm (f/5.4), mostly for planetary (with Powermate from time to time).

Thanks for any input, in addition to other eyepieces that might make sense with this scope (Nagler type V 26 / 31?)

I've had both and compared them directly in a 10" f/5 Newtonian and a 7" f/6.7 Newtonian. IMO, 5mm Nagler Type 6 is at least as good as the Radian in every respect. Certainly I saw no evidence whatsoever to support the idea that the Radian was sharper in the least. The Nagler is quite a bit superior in having less lateral color on a degree-for-degree basis. Eye relief isn't all that different on a degree-for-degree basis. At this price point I think the $40 price difference favors the Type 6 Nagler.

The two are compared here:

I have a pair of each, and it is a trade off between fov and eye relief. Optically the Nagler is every bit as good as the Radian.
