Morning guys....happy AStronomy day to everyone!

smile

I have a question for you and would very much appreciate help:
I'm just starting Astrophotography and yesterday I bought a 300D smile

1 - Is the MaxView DSLR™ Eyepiece Projection Adapters from
scpetronix good? Do I need to pick up any T-rings or something like
that or the MAxview is sufficent?

2 - I don`t have a Wedge. Should I buy one?

3 - What can I use as an AUTOGUIDER? It must be very cheap, because
I'm currently broke and not eating. wink

4 - Should I pick up the Meade Weights Set?

5 - Anything I need to know or should pick up?

Thanks very much and hope to have an answer soon!

Emanuele, I'll try to help, even though I'm not doing Astrophotography yet... (hopefully soon smile )

1. Scopetronix has tons of adapters, and I've heard good things about them, but I guess it all depends on what you have, and what you want to do, to choose which one you'll need...

2. A Wedge is REALLY necessary when you plan on taking LONG exposure photos. Alt-Az might be fine if you take multiple very short exposure shots (seconds, not minutes)

3. I've seen people using webcams as autoguiders, but doubt you'll find a CHEAP "REAL" autoguider for less than $500...

4. Depending on your scope setup/mount, and what accessories you'll have on it, you might need to get a weight balance set... (if you are in Alt-Az it is easier than in equatorial mode...)

I wish I could be of more help, but as I said, I'm not doing AP yet...

Clear skies!

I guess you have some kind of fork mounted Meade scope. I wouldn't waste my money on the Maxview DSLR eyepiece projection adapter. I would get a 6.3 focal reducer instead, and just mount the camera straight to that with the proper adapter and forget about eyepiece projection for now. I would definetly get a good wedge. If I was low on funds, I would make my own weight set instead of buying the Meade one. Some people have good luck using a webcam as an autoguider, I use an SBIG ST-237A as my autoguider. You will need a remote for your camera and a copy of Images Plus for your processing.
