Change hand user of FeatherTouch Focuser

Dear all,

I have just purchased the Starlight FeatherTouch Focuser for Dob use and love its smooth motion and fiction control.

I note that the Focuser's pinion housing can be reversed to allow switching between left and right hand user. However, there is no illustrated diagram/image accompanying the simple 1 page manual descrption.

Has anyone tried reversing the pinion housing for FeatherTouch ? How to do it ?

Illustrations with photos/images will be greatly appreciated.

Ray,
It's a snap.It's a Crayford principle focuser,and difficult to imagine anything simpler.
I've got to go to work now,but if you haven't done it by the time I get back and nobody else has shown you the way,I'll take mine apart and photo it.

I believe that all you have to do is to take out the two small Allen screws that hold the focuser knobs to the barrel and then turn it around and put the screws back in and it is reversed. I have not tried it but I do know that the screws take the knob block off and that it is able to be reversed.

Try again.I just lost my first draft by a wrong click!
Procedure.Probably best to take off the whole assembly from off the base plate by using the 1/16th Allen key that likely came with your focuser to allow you to rotate the focuser.
On the underside of the focus knob assembly, bang in the middle there are two Allen headed screws aligned on the focuser in-out axis.Extract these using a 3/32nd Allen key, pull off the assembly as a whole, pausing only long enough to admire the quality of the machine work invisible to normal view, turn it around to change the hand and screw it all up again.A cinch.
Good luck.
