My first time shooting with an ASI294MC Pro, taken with Takahashi FCT-76; Did not have the appropriate coupler to use the reducer/flattener, so got a fair amount of coma peripherally. This is a quick and dirty stack of 10 300 second exposures, 1X1 bin, 115 gain, cooled to -25C below ambient temperature. Did not use any darks/flats. Used ASIcap to stage and Nebulosity to process.Mount: AP900, auto guided with SBIG STV deluxe. I’m used to DSLR controlled wirelessly with an iPad, and OSC is a few steps more complicated! What I liked: 5 minute exposures with minimal noise, great sensitivity to H-alpha compared to my unmodded Nikon D750. What I disliked: frame and focus was much more tedious; cables to deal with; need for laptop in my already crowded observatory. Lack of immediate exposure feedback. I’m not giving up my DSLR yet!
