Sometimes a very wide field provides context for objects. This view of the Andromeda Galaxy is from a Canon T3i camera with a 200mm fl Canon lens, riding piggyback on my Zambuto mirror Starmaster dobsonian for tracking. Skies at the Naperville Astronomical Association dark sky site were very good, allowing for a 3200iso, 2-minute image at this wide field view. Andromeda has been studied extensively. It is about 2.5 million light years distant, moving toward us with merging beginning in a few billion years. Views will only get better over the eons !
