Beautiful sunny afternoon in Santa Monica - I am right in front of my new studio taking pictures of the sun, people walking by... This partial solar eclipse went almost unnoticed - what made it dramatic was the huge sunspot (AR2192) near the center. The spot is large enough to swallow several Earths. This was near the maximum of the eclipse, around 3:35 pm Pacific Time.
