Messier 45 - The Pleiades Cluster The nearest open star cluster to our Solar System (approximately 400 light years away), the Pleiades' six brightest stars are plainly visible to the naked eye even from suburban skies. With a binoculars or a small telescope, dozens of bright blue stars appear. Equipment used: TMB92L Orion Atlas Mount Gary Honis modified Canon XSi Astronomik CLS filter Astronomik L filter SBIG STi autoguide camera Televue Field Flattener and .8x Focal Reducer 7 frames of 600s @ ISO400 Image processing with PixInsight and Adobe Lightroom 5
