This feeding osprey picture was taken at Riverbend Park in Jupiter, Florida. It took me two days to learn this bird's hunting and feeding habits enabling me to strategically set up my equipment. This shot was taken using a homemade f/5 refractor (Jaegers 76mm, 380mm) coupled with a GSO linear bearing focuser, Baader semi-APO filter, 1.4x teleconverter and Olympus e-510 DSLR. Shot at iso 400, 1/800 second exposure. Postprocessed the RAW image using Photoelements to adjust shadows and color balance.
