This young Blue Jay juvenile, was caught being fed last week by one if it's parents. The succeeding photo was also successful in capturing both of the bird's beaks meeting together. It has been cold lately here in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada so our feeders have been very active with numerous bird species. The Jays have been very entertaining when they get the occasional treat of peanuts. The equipment used was a Canon 1DS MKII with a 1.4 convertor on a EF500mm 1.4 IS lens. It was tripod mounted to a Jobu BWG-LW2/HD2 gimbal head.
