Neptune is passing close to Jupiter at this time. This is a composite image combining a shot of Jupiter and its moons (1/20-sec exposure with Canon G3 at 4x optical zoom afocal to Vixen 102mm f9 fluorite refractor), and a shot of Neptune also at 4x but 5-seconds exposure time. The star to the right of the frame is mu Capricorni. Refer to my previous photo for complete assignment of the objects and the correct proportion of all objects. This one is prettier, also having been processed in Registax. All images were taken between 5:20am and 5:40am EDT in the upper Midwest.
