Description

I finally got around to adding SII data for the central Lagoon region. This comparison is to demonstrate that the tricolor merge scheme chosen has significant impact on the appearance of the final image, although detail pretty nearly stays the same. Image parameters as follows: Scope: APM 130/780 @ f/6 Mount: Orion Atlas EQ-G (EQMOD) Camera: ATIK 16HR monochrome H-alpha: Sept. 5 2008 from the SHSU observatory in Huntsville, TX 12x5min binned 2x2 O-III: Sept. 5 2008 from the SHSU observatory in Huntsville, TX 6x5min binned 2x2 S-II: Sept. 20 2008 from College Station, TX 16x5min binned 2x2 Images calibrated, registered and stacked in Deep Sky Stacker. Tricolor merges, High Dynamic Range creation and final processing performed in Photoshop CS2.
