Description
What can be done with an aperture limited 5 scope? Well, to answer that question, on a night of exceptional seeing (July 18, 2008 at about 11:30 PM), I turned my APM 130/780 to Jupiter. I stacked a 2X ultima barlow on a TV 4X powermate and used my SPC900NC webcam to collect a 4 minute video at 5 fps. Using Registax, and keeping the best 50% of the frames, I was able to get this image of the gas giant. Needless to say, I was astounded by what a small scope can do on a bright planetary target.
