Description

The rising full moon never fails to catch our attention and hearts! When we blend into the mix a 2500 year-old temple from the time of Ancient Greece surrounded by a cape and the Aegean, one has a magical moment that makes us appreciate the many fine things that life and nature have to offer if we take a minute or two from a hectic life to just simply look around us. The attached photo is one of 48 photos taken during the evening of June 18th while the moon was rising against the Temple of Poseidon. The sun at the time was lower than I want for such single exposures and which complicated matters significantly, for the extra darkness magnified the brightness of the rising moon and dimmed the archaeological foreground, thus requiring over 4.5 hours of processing for this one single photo. The details for this photo are as follows: June 18, 2008 @ 21:27:46 UT+3, Sounion, Greece with a Takahashi FSQ 106/f5 APO refractor, Canon EOS 300D, 1 x 1/15 sec exposure, ISO 400, 25% resampling.
