As I watched my planned night of astronomical observing disappear into cloud cover, I realized that perpetual clear skies would never allow for such beauty as this brief moment. Photographed in Loveland Ohio just before twilight on 22 May 2008 with a Canon G3 set on manual, 100 iso, 1x zoom, 1/15-second exposure using circular polarizing filter in front of lens. Image was reduced to less than 1/2 size for better presentation when selected.
