Taken in my back yard in St. Cloud, Florida. It was the coldest night weve had (1/2/2008)in 5 years (29F) but conditions were perfect. Because M42 is so bright I cant image it with my SBIG ST-10 without using narrow band filters. I used Hubble color subtitutions to get this interesting version of a well known target. Two sets of exposure times were made and combined to prevent to much over exposure at the core. % minutes and 30 seconds. Total exposure time was about 3 hours.
