Description
This dramatic photo of the rising perigee moon from Oct/2007 - the largest full moon of the year - against the Parthenon required slightly over twelve months to capture just right since we require the proper azimuth and altitude of the rising moon to coincide with the our foreground as much as possible and for the lighting of the archaeological grounds to match that of the rising full moon so as to permit for a single photo and exposure. The photo was taken from Philopappouu Hill which lies 700 meters southwest of the Parthenon (and the Acropolis).
