I gave up on shooting the veil from my backyard a couple years ago, I live 5 miles from Manchester international airport, and the light pollution, while not terrible, is too much for the faint wisps that make up this DSO. I decided to try something new, I shot 150 minutes of HA and OIII through Baader filters and 300 minutes RGB with a Hutech IDAS LPS. I took the HA and OIII exposure and combined them in photoshop, assigning the HA to the red channel and the OIII to the green and blue channels. I had a pretty funky looking mask! Using that mask, I luma layered it on the light polluted RGB shot (which showed almost none of pickerings triange & wisps) and my jaw hit the table. I tweaked the contrast a bit, itterated the luma mask once, and was done.
