This is an image of the famous Andromeda Galaxy and one I have been trying to image for a number of years. Taken at Dogwood Ridge Observatory in Central Virginia from my rual home under moderatly good skies over 4 nights. This has been a target Ive wanted to do but until I got a widefeild refractor, was never happy with the results. Using SBIGs ST10XME/CFW8 and the TeleVue NP101 allowed me to capture the majority of the galaxy. Using the remote guide head for the ST10XME coupled to the AP guidescope allowed a good selection of guidestars. Data was aquired using ACP automation software with MaxImDl/CCD software while I slept for the most part. Images were reduced in MaxImDl using master flat, bias and dark frames. Combine ratios were calculated using Don Goldmans RGB Calculator software. Adobe PS3 used to adjust levels and curves.
