This was my first attempt at imaging the Moon with a Meade 8†LX90 and LPI. We had almost two weeks of overcast skies here in Texas finally yield to one cloudless day with a forecast of above average seeing for that evening. I set up and aligned the telescope in alt-az configuration and sighted in on my target with a 25mm eyepiece. I then replaced the 25mm with the LPI and worked from my laptop recording around 15 images detailing the lunar terminator. I used the Autostar 497 keypad to move and point the LX90 as I gradually worked along the various craters and other features. The system tracked flawlessly. I found the LPI software to be intuitive and very easy to use. Later I used Photoshop to align and blend the files into one seamless image that you see here. I am a novice astronomer and totally new to astrophotography. But this setup made it easy for even a first timer like me. Thanks for looking at my work. I look forward to submitting more images soon.
