Description
Photoshop used to digitally zoom, crop and enhance the photographs I took of Comet 73P early morning of May 7, 2006. This is a comparison of 2 photographs, each taken with the same conditions and enhancements, each of the same celestial coordinates, one with the comet present, and the second after the comet had moved out of the field of view. Although faint and not well-resolved, I believe I was able to image some of the small fragments traveling behind the main head of the comet. These appear as small clumps of brightness, larger than the noise patterns from the camera. Their absence in the comparison background photograph ensures that they are not background stars behind the comets tail.
