A formation of 11 pelicans was flying directly over the boardwalk a good 50 yards in from the ocean, at Pacific Beach, San Diego. They looked like a bomber squadron on a mission. Taken with a Canon Rebel XT with a 28-105mm lens. I started shooting at wide angle and continually increased to telephoto as they approached.
