Under pristine skies in SE Michigan, M42 was imaged in the pre- dawn hours of 2 Sep 2005. For a larger image scale, a Kenko Teleplus Pro 300 1.4x teleconverter was attached, giving 560mm, f/7 system. Nikon D70 attached to a Vixen A80SS refractor, IDAS LPS filter. Exposed at ISO 800, 2 x 78 sec, 4 x 142 sec, 2 x 257 sec. Vixen GP-DX tracking, STV autoguided. Processed with ImagesPlus 2.5 and PSP 9.01.
