Description
This is an image of a -8 mag flare created by Iridium 6 on 10 may 05 at 9:36PM. It was taken from my backyard observatory in Chesapeake Va. using a SBIG ST-8i camera thru a 105mm camera lens w/13%moon filter piggybacked on a 10 LX200 GPS. The cooridinates of the predicted flare were loaded in the LX200 as user object 1 and after a sync on a nearby star a goto to user object1 was done and with 30 seconds to go I hit the take image button for a 4 minute shot...I stepped back and watched as the flare appeared and brighten and then faded. After what seemed like days, the 4 minute image downloaded and I could finally see that, indeed, I had captured a flare on my first attempt
