Group was 200 feet from me; squirrel on left is 42 feet from the hawk, squirrel on right is 23 feet from hawk; all three sat in the same position for approx. 7 minutes, just before sunset; all were obviously looking for a bed time snack! The hawk finally tried for a squirrel on the ground, but failed. Image taken in a tree swamp 20 miles west of New Orleans.
