A two-part mosaic of 14 hours worth of exposures taken with an AO7-guided, ST10XE and Celestron CG11 @ f10. This image shows a number of interacting galaxies with a variety of galactic morphologies. The largest of the bright galaxies in the image is also the furthest away. At 300 million light years NGC6872, spanning 700,000 light years, is the most distorted galaxy known, due to the influence of IC4970.
