This is a 4-part Hydrogen-Alpha mosaic taken with an Sbig ST10XE and an Asahi 50mm Super-Takumar camera lens ($25 second-hand) and stopped down one stop. The field covered by this 2x2 mosaic is 25x20 degrees. This was taken from my backyard observatory over two nights and started as an experiment to see if an image scale of 28 arcseconds per pixel (and indeed such a cheap lens) would yield a decent result.
