Description
Although the great opposition of 2003 may have come and gone, the moon and Mars still represent the second and third brightest objects at night. Coupled with an impending weather front moving into the area and we have a photo with dramatic and colorful effects. The photo above was taken at 22:18 UT+3 using a Nikon Coolpix 995. One photo was taken for the moon (1/500th sec) and a second photo (1 sec) was taken of the properly exposed red planet and clouds. Location is Athens, Greece.
