Small Mount for Sky90?

I just got a Sky90, nice little grab and go scope. Now I want a small, light, motorized head to go on a Manfrotto 3001 tripod. I do have larger tripods including a AP/Baader but this is for compact, light weight, visual only observing but should also work with a binoviewer. I do have a tripod head with a micro-adjustment stage and it works more or less but runs out of motion too soon for ease of use. Any recommendations?

Like wise any suggestions on a good but small soft case?

Good suggestion, I had forgottne about the Nexstar mount. But its a bit larger than I was thinking of.

Since nobody has responded, I’ll give a try. How about the nexstar mount?

Hi John,

Check out my add #406947... perfect combination for that scope.

Lukman, can you show how the attachment is made? Thanks, -- William (Saratoga, CA)

p.s. I have a 6" Mak mounted on a NexStar 8 single-arm fork with Ray's Bracket. I'm thinking of moving the dovetail clamp from the Bracket (bolted on) to the NexStar round plate directly (again by drilling and tapping two holes for the bolts). But yours looks a bit different (from this angle).

I have a Sky 90 on a TV telepod head and Davis and Sanford Pro Lift A mount. The Telepod head is pretty smooth and the mount is rock steady. The mount and head fits in the D&S nylon bag (35") That, the Temba ba for the 90 and a small carry case for my EPs and I'm out the door. Many times I fold up my setup with the OTA attached lay it on a pillow in the backseat of my car and I'm viewing as soon as I get out of the car.

I hope this helps, Owen
