I think in the menu there is an option to turn off tracking or hibernate it on the eq mounts ,what version is the firmware? I'll set up at night and leave it set up with hibernate still retains allinment .HTH

To add what Fred said ,also ck to make shure it's set to northern hemisphere if that doesn't work do a factory reset, spread the center pin a little with a jewelers screwdriver and see what happens.
