NGC 891 The Silver Sliver Galaxy

NGC 891 (also known as Caldwell 23 or Silver Sliver Galaxy) is an edge-on unbarred spiral galaxy about 30 million light-years away in the constellation Andromeda. It was discovered by William Herschel on October 6, 1784.

Here is a better effort on NGC 861 after some additional post-processing.  I was able to pull out additional detail in the dust lane.

Thanks Eric.  Still a little bit of a tracking error, but it's the best I can do at this FL and manual tracking.

This image is from a single frame taken from a 20 frame video through a Takahashi FS78 using a ZWO ASI290MC camera at a distance of 1000 yards.  Processed with PSCC.
