60 mins L, 30 mins RGB 2x2, TEC200 & ST237 (at -35C)

Do you think that diminutive little star in the center of the circle caused this whole affair?

perserverance

I've been trying to find my wife her little dream sedan for the last six months. Several I almost bit at, several a bit too rusty, a couple on ebay I was hovering over BUY IT NOW but the shipping to Alaska is $1600 - $3000 and thats a huge deterrent with the overall value of the cars. (Well, some of them anyway.) When POW! along pops up one about an hour from here, 1 owner since 1978.... garaged continuously since then.... latest model.. no rust in a 32 yr old car... I was flabbergasted. I present.... the 1976 BMW 2002. I know most of the cars on this board would be out of sight by the time this car shifts into 3rd, but that's not her style!

Talks a lot about global warming. I enjoyed the talk. Man I hope I look that young when I'm 64.

come look through my TEC200

You'll have to clear 6" of snow off my roll-off for me first....

for full disclosure:

Weather for Wasilla, AK 99654
-24°F

What torture... I'm on vacation for 4 more days, the sky is clear, the seeing is good, but that snow has to come off.

m82 revisited

Couldn't believe my eyes it was warm, dark and clear outside. At the same time.

Rusty but I still know how to run the observatory software.... so I added a bit of color data to my M82.

M109

This is about 4 hrs of M109 through the TEC200 and the ST237 on the eternally vigilant AP1200, the only piece of hardware that doesn't seem to care what temperature it is. Everything else... computers... telescopes... the observatory... the camera.. have been sources of trouble the last couple weeks but the AP doesn't even seem to notice the cold snaps.. have you hugged your mount today

M109 hybrid DSLR and CCD

Here is a first attempt at combining detail from the highly claustrophobic ST237 onto a starfield from the comparatively gargantuan EOS 40D, all through the TEC200ED f/9. Still under $1000 in cameras : ) : )
