Hi,
Just want to say I ordered my 14.5" AstroSky today. I am
getting it with Stevens Optics. I should get in June or

Thanks,

Joel

THE PUPPIES ARE COMMING

Posted By joel falk

At 5:15 CST mon has started to give birth. So far there are two puppies. We are expecting a total of 7-10 puppies.
Both mom and dad are golden ret. This is going to be a long day for mom. This is her third liter. In the first two she had a total of 16 puppies; of which, 4 were males and 12 were females. I will post pictures when mom and puppies are presentable. I will keep you posted!!!

The Puppies Are Here; All Eleven Of Them

Posted By joel falk

I finally had a chance to count the number of puppies. The count is eleven. A rather large number for a small golden ret. that only weighs 45 pounds. Mom has a lot of work feeding all her babies.

Mom is Having Differculty Feeding Her Pups

Posted By joel falk

Mom is not producing enough milk to feed all her pups. One has already died. I just took it to the vet to be cremated. Two others are very ill. I turned my bed into an I.C.U. for puppies. The two ill ones are on my bed being kept warm with a hot water bottle. They are being
bottle feed by me. Hopefully things will calm down so I can get some pictures to show you.

TWO MORE PUPS HAVE ...

Posted By joel falk

That's right! The two pups in the I.C.U. have died. The I.C.U. has been closed!!!
Mom (Angel) and her remaining eight pups seem to be doing well. Angel is eating much better and seems to be producing
enough milk for her eight remaining pups!

I have started to take pictures of mom and her pups. Hope
to have some posted soon.

30mm Pentax XW

Posted By joel falk

Anyone know much about the 30mm Pentax XW? How does it compare with the 27mm and 35mm Panoptics? Is the Pentax XW
a good buy at $500.00 compared with the 26mm Nagler at $600.00 or the 31mm Nagler at $640.00?

Clear Skies,

Eyepieces For a 14.5" f/4.3 Dob

Posted By joel falk

While I wait for this scope I have put together a tentative list of EPs to get for this scope.
First of all, this scope has no DSC,no GOTO, and no tracking so I am only cosidering EPs with a large AFOV.
Also,I wear glasses and I am 58 years old. Intially, the scope will be used mostly for lunar and planetary work. To a lesser degree I will also do some double star and DSO work.
In addition to the EPs I will get a 2" 2x Powermate but no
paracorr at this time.
Below is a list of the EPs with their approx. magnifications.

Pentax 30mm XW 53x,(106x)
Pentax 10mm XW 158x,(316x)
Pentax 7mm XW 226x,(452x)

When I get the paracorr I believe I will need an EP with magnification in the 75x-125x range since the paracorr cannot be used with a barlow.

Any comments would be appreciated!
