GO THUNDER!

Wow! I know nothing about basketball. I had no idea at all that Oklahoma City even had an NBA Team! shocked When did this happen? Wow! I thought you were getting all excited about a USBL or NBA D-League Franchise. You can return to your normal programming. Let me know when they join the SEC. grin

Worst Rated Living President...

In the long run, history may judge him more kindly. When radical Islam perpetrated an attack that was far worse than the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand or Pearl Harbor, he responded in measured terms that let Islamic civilization continue to exist. We would have been justified in mobilizing to World War II levels and running the table in the Middle East and rendering radical Islam as unthinkable as militarism is to the Japanese. He stopped WMD programs or potential WMD programs in Libya and Iraq. He upgraded internal security in the U.S. and put mechanisms in place to stop additional major attacks. He made hard choices.

How Many Camels For Obama?

Posted By Lee Spain

I liked this comment about the article:

"Don't fool yourself....these camels being offered here are totally worn out, having been used as sex objects all their lives by these Islamists, and are infested with fleas and loathsome venereal diseases. They are not the young, vigorous sexy camels these folks would have you believe." - CapnMike on the CNN Comment Board.

KKK wants to Adapt a Hwy in GA

The state declined their request due to the Klans history of inciting racial hatred and violence. Plus, it would probably attract a lot of politically motivated litter bugs. I think it was the right decision and it is in keeping with similar decisions in other states.

Is Atlanta losing its edge?

Posted By Lee Spain

According to this article: We're number 8! But, I think they are seriously under-counting. In most big cities the 'burbs are safe. But, we have violence from the Banjo Zone down to Macon. Gwinnett, Dekalb, Cobb and Clayton counties are all teeming hives of scum and villainy. Atlanta decided to innovate, tear down public housing, and send all the poor folks to live in apartments all over the area.

8. Atlanta, Ga.
> Violent crimes per 1,000: 14.3
> Population: 425,533
> 2011 murders: 88
> Median income: $41,631
> Unemployment rate:12.1%

Compared to most American cities, Atlanta has extremely high incidences of both violent and property crimes. The city’s 8.27 aggravated assaults per 1,000 people is one of the 10 highest rates among the country’s largest cities, as is the city’s 70.84 property crimes per 1,000 people. Atlanta also has one of the nation’s highest rates of motor vehicle theft, with a total of 5,371 incidents in the city last year. Vehicle theft likely will remain an issue throughout 2012 as well; in March almost 100 individuals were arrested as part of a single auto theft operation.

AARP--Social Security

I guess these weren't options:

Tariffs on all imported goods.
Tribute from Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Selling convicted criminals into slavery.

Nobody thinks outside of the box anymore. . . wink

Dinner with Barack

Posted By Lee Spain

I'd love to have dinner with Barack or Romney. Neither one of them will address the elephant in the room: H1B labor. In the course of my career, I have seen IT departments go from 5% or less Indian labor to somewhere between 50% and 80% labor.

For those who went the MCSE route, those certifications went from being a ticket to a $50K job to intermittent work with the geek squad. Americans used to go to Computer Learning Center, Community Colleges, and self-built basement LANs for training and be able to bootstrap themselves into good middle class jobs. The notion is fairly laughable now.

When I was in college, the professors told everyone not to worry about the departure of manufacturing jobs because everyone would have high-paying, clean, information technology and service sector jobs. However, with Internet-fueled, globalization, we find ourselves competing with everyone on the planet for jobs. Work has been projectized and people are hired for the duration of specific projects. On the lower end of the job spectrum, illegal immigrant and exploitable new immigrant labor is making job conditions worse for everyone. This is hardly a climate for building wealth, stability, or owning a home.

Another Gutless Wonder

He knows that coming out against the order will alienate Hispanic voters. Endorsing the order will alienate his conservative base. He's got some thinking to do!
