Lichtman Explains His Election Prediction Failure

Posted By Rod Kaufman

JB: "He blames disinformation... and Elon Musk?  Lichtman is literally full of it."

Well, however you feel about it, 40%+ of the electorate got a constant drumbeat of the worst kind of BS there is coming in huge daily heaping helpings from Faux and friends. And Musk's X excrement was as bad or worse so to think that didn't have a significant effect is naive at best.

Any at rate, Lichtman had earlier fessed up to being wrong and said so. That's his explanation and one can certainly argue over his methodology but the negative right wing media reinforcement of the democrats and the elevation of everything MAGA certainly played a major role...

Lichtman Explains His Election Prediction Failure

Jim,
I don't have a source offhand for the 43% figure of Faux viewers and whether that's an aggregate number, an average over time of viewer preferences by polling or by another means of evaluation. Fox does routinely outperform the other media outlets as our resident screamer likes to note from time to time.

That said, I don't necessarily disagree with your arguments and I believe Lichtman needs to take into account misinformation as a separate key in his methods and weigh it accordingly...

Lichtman Explains His Election Prediction Failure

Jim, I'd add that I don't think it's credible to call Lichtman a "leftist hack". He's about the only one who predicted Trump's win in 2016 in an election that surprised virtually everyone including Trump...

Arabs want to collect

As per the State Department:

"Executive Summary
READ A SECTION: ISRAEL | THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES (BELOW)

The Occupied Territories, which include the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, are subject to the jurisdiction of Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), with the division of responsibilities overlapping in much of the territory. The PA Basic Law, which serves as an interim constitution, establishes Islam as the official religion, but calls for respect of “all other divine religions.”

In other words, both Israel and the Palestinian Authority "occupy" the contentious religious sites/lands as described in the above link and with shared responsibilities.
In other words, that doesn't mean a military incursion is an "occupation."

What do You not understand about it?

Who is the occupier?  Is Hamas occupying anywhere IN Gaza. Yes, they occupy homes, mosques, underneath hospitals, and have their rockets in Gazans' kitchens all over the area, and Jews don't exist there, lest they be killed in the streets of Gaza.

Or do you think there are LOTS OF JEWS there living in Gaza?

And aside from the IDF being in Gaza, hunting terrorists, where does Israel have settlements IN Gaza?

Israel isn't Occupying anyone.

And since you are a fan of the US State Department, then your side of the political aisle should never take issue with the fact that the US State Department refers to "Illegal Aliens" as "Illegal aliens" and as such I don't need to hear the left go insane over calling Illegal aliens, Illegal aliens, rather than their euphemistic term "undocumented immigrants" which is their favorite way to ignore the fact that Illegal aliens are here "Illegally".
You understand nothing about it. You superimpose your interpretation of it, add the overlay of the war on top of it and then add your usual dodge, in this case a non-sequitur about illegal aliens...

"Muslims who voted for Trump upset by his pro-Israel cabinet picks"

"U.S. Muslim leaders who supported Republican Donald Trump to protest against the Biden administration's support for Israel's war on Gaza and attacks on Lebanon have been deeply disappointed by his Cabinet picks, they tell Reuters."

"Trump won because of us and we're not happy with his Secretary of State pick and others," said Rabiul Chowdhury, a Philadelphia investor who chaired the Abandon Harris campaign in Pennsylvania and co-founded Muslims for Trump. Muslim support for Trump helped him win Michigan and may have factored into other swing state wins, strategists believe."

"We are very disappointed," he said. "It seems like this administration has been packed entirely with neoconservatives and extremely pro-Israel, pro-war people, which is a failure on the on the side of President Trump, to the pro-peace and anti-war movement."
