Bluebird

Posted By Rex Cox

Here is a photo I took of a Bluebird sitting on the corral rail at my folks cattle ranch a few weeks ago. Not a particularly remarkable picture except that I took it with a Canon point-and-shoot camera held up to a 17mm Nagler in a Televue NP-101is. It came out better than I expected it to.

lens cleaning towelettes-- Roland?

Posted By Rex Cox

I'd like to know if there is any reason that these wouldn't be good for cleaning refractor or eyepiece lenses. The fact that it is a premoistened towelette makes them very portable and handy to keep in an eyepiece case, especially for emergency cleaning in the field. I've used them on my coated plastic eyeglass lenses, and they seem to be very gentle. They haven't scratched my lenses and they do a good job of cleaning them. I'm posting a picture of the front and back of the package.

know where I can get one of these clips?

Posted By Rex Cox

Awhile back, I aquired a Romanian .22 cal. military training rifle. I've looked high and low for clips for it, and I'd like to have some extras. Do any of the experts here know where I can get them?

Grundig Buzz Aldrin shortwave radio--any good?

Posted By Rex Cox

Has anyone bought or had a chance to play with a Grundig Buzz Aldrin shortwave radio? I'd like to have a small, portable shortwave radio with good sensitivity, low frequency bleed-through, and decent sound quality through its speaker, as well as being able to listen to through ear buds. Is there anything better with comparable features and price?

The Oklahoma State/Tulsa game didn't start until after midnight central time last night due to a delayed start becuase of lightening. It didn't end until 3:45 this morning! But I stayed with it til the end. OSU 59, Tulsa 33. GO POKES!! GO STATE!!

How It's Made...

Posted By Rex Cox

Anyone see one of the episodes of How It's Made on the Science Channel this evening (11/10/11)? They showed how an Orion Optics UK Dall Kirkham telescope is made. It was pretty interesting. It will air again tonight at 11:00 p.m. central time.
