Michael, you need to remove your e-mail address and phone number to be in compliance with terms of service rules. You and respondents can exchange that information via private messaging.

NUMBER 3

Some people just don't get it. When I look at the gear that I've purchased from sellers on Astromart, gear I would not have been able to afford otherwise, and the gear that I've been able to sell on astromart, gear that I might otherwise have been stuck with or unable to get a fair price for, I see what a great value Astromart is to me. I have absolutely no problem at all with the $12 fee I paid a few years back, and I have no problem with paying a yearly fee for access to Astromart. I have paid for support in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I am very greatful for Astromart, and I hope it will continue to be a viable venture for a long time to come.

Herb, I know you get a lot of flack from some folks for how you run the site, but I hope you also hear from folks who feel like me like me just as often. Thanks for running a great web site.

Dewed Telescope

Posted By Rex Cox

If there is any dew on any of your optics, it probably isn't a good idea to put the caps on with them wet. That can promote fungus growth. I would just close up the obervatory and let the optics dry uncapped. Alternately, a hairdryer on low setting to dry the optics or a fan to circulate air inside the observatory might be a good idea.

Orion support policy

Harry, I've been down that rough road with Orion myself. Is it possible that the bushing you need might be available from a local hardware store, or maybe McMaster-Carr?

Good Reasons to Get Losmandy Mounts

Posted By Rex Cox

Peter Glus said:

There are many, but I want to once again praise them (particularly Scott) on his most excellent customer service. Frankly, this will sound strange but when I am talking to him about my mount (an older GM-200) its more like talking to my primary care physician than some guy from a company. They give you the time, they listen, they know what they are talking about, and they solve your problems. They also stand by products discontinued decades ago. You cant find that anywhere else.

Sounds like Losmandy does other stuff (some other type of machining I guess) which is probably a good thing since it may allow them to diversify a bit and ride out the lows in the market.

I wish them many more years of business....

The biggest part of Scott Losmandy's business is manufacturing equipment for the motion picture industry. Google "porta-jib".
